Can't read the stamp on the bottom of a pan? Send us a photo, and we'll tell you what we can about what it's made of.
Email hello@clearlymadegoods.com with a clear photo of the stamp, base mark, sticker or box label. A second photo of the whole piece helps. So does anything you already know, like where it came from or roughly how old it is.
What will you tell me?
What the marks say about materials. That means the metal or glass, whether a coating is named, how the piece is built, and where it says it was made.
If a mark points to a maker, we'll look up what that maker states and send you the link. If the marks don't tell us, we'll say so plainly.
What won't you tell me?
We stick to what something is made of. We won't tell you whether it's safe to cook with, and we won't guess at health effects. We can't test your piece, and a photo can't show what's under a coating.
How long does it take?
We reply within one business day, Monday to Friday. A hard one can take longer, and we'll tell you if it does.
Will you post my question?
Sometimes. Good questions may become a short public answer on our blog or social posts. We never use your name, your email, or anything that identifies you.
We only post your photo if you say we can, and we crop out anything personal. If you'd rather we didn't post your question at all, say so in the email and we won't.
Do I have to buy something?
No. It's free, whether or not you ever buy from us.
Looking for a pan you can name already? Our cookware material lookup lists what each maker says about its cooking surface, coating, construction and country of manufacture.
